OEB Breakfast Co.

We visited OEB Breakfast Co. in Burnaby, a modern spot known for its creative brunch dishes. While the “Huevos In’Na Burrito” was a bit disappointing due to its small size and unexpected charges for sauces, “The Laks” was a much better value. Though the coffee was bland, we still recommend trying their popular dishes like the poutines.

Bon’s Off Broadway

Bon’s Off Broadway is a Vancouver institution famous for its incredibly affordable and hearty all-day breakfast. Bon’s offers its simple, generous portions and classic comfort food. We ordered 2 of their all day breakfast and added onions and sausage and 1 pancake to share. Colin ordered 1 coffee which was great as it is free refills. We were stuffed and we loved how unique the place was with all the writing on the walls.

Sooda Korean BBQ

Sooda Korean BBQ located in Brentwood Mall is a vibrant restaurant offering a popular dining experience where guests canhave marinated meats, traditional Korean side dishes (banchan), and lively atmosphere. We had ordered a platter and a couple of sushi rolls to try. We really enjoyed the platter, but the rolls did fall a bit short of seasoning. We highly recommend giving Sooda a try for their Korean Fusion dishes.

Club Salmon Sushi Bar and Bistro

Club Salmon Sushi Bar and Bistro specializes in a unique style of Japanese cuisine with a focus on fresh salmon. We had went here to celebrate Colin’s birthday and ordered 1 appetizer, a combo and 2 rolls. We were amazed on the freshness of the salmon and really enjoyed the atmosphere here. We highly recommend giving it a try.

Pur & Simple

Pur & Simple is a fantastic place for delicious breakfast and lunch options. We love the modern atmosphere and appreciate that their menu includes everything, making it a great choice for a straightforward and satisfying meal. We particularly enjoy their Eggs Benedict and how generous they are with the rich hollandaise sauce. The plentiful amount of potatoes they serve made the meal extra filling.

Marble House Eatery

At $38 for all you can eat hot pot, it is a bit priced at a higher price but their quality of meat is delicious. We went here for a birthday and everyone had their own individual hot pots. We love how they offer free ice cream at the end and if you are still wanting sweets they also have cotton candy too!

(Burnaby) MYST Asian Fusion

f you’re looking for Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup, a great place to go is MYST Asian Fusion. We also ordered Taiwanese chicken nuggets and fried squid. With the generous portions and reasonable prices, it’s definitely a worthy spot to try. Is the photos making you drool? Because it is making us drool.

Pot Empire

Pot Empire was a new place we tried at the recommendation from our friend. It’s a great spot for individual hot pot, offering a generous amount of vegetables and a flavorful soup base. The sauce dish they provide is also delicious. For the price, it’s quite affordable and filling, which we highly appreciate. We’d recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant gets very busy. We also loved the vibrant, aesthetic atmosphere created by their neon signs.

Zhengxin Chicken Steak Canada

Zhengxin Chicken Steak Canada is a relatively new restaurant specializing in Taiwanese-style fried chicken. They are known for their large, crispy, and well-seasoned chicken steaks, a popular street food staple in Taiwan. In addition to their signature chicken, they offer a variety of combos that include items like chicken sandwiches and wraps, all praised for their delicious flavor and generous portions.

Rens Cafe & Bistro:

Rens Cafe & Bistro has a beautiful interior and exterior, making it a great place for a birthday celebration. While the food was delicious, some dishes were too saucy. The chicken curry wasn’t worth the cost-to-portion ratio, but we hope to try the Mango Sticky Rice next time. Overall, this place is a bit higher than standard Thai restuarants as 1 entree could cost you $35. We highly recommend the Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice as it was full of Seafood and was delicious in taste.

Conclusion:

Our culinary tour of Burnaby highlighted a fantastic array of dining options, from the interactive hot pot at Big Way Hot Pot and the communal Korean BBQ at Sooda, to the unique Asian fusion dishes at MYST. This diverse mix of restaurants showcases Burnaby’s status as a vibrant and delicious destination for food lovers.
