Asakusa Hanayashiki

We went to a coffee shop nearby and saw Asakusa Hanayashiki which is Japan’s oldest amusement park. Unfortunately, our photo was too blurry, but you can click here to see what it may offer. While smaller than modern theme parks, its classic rides for families to enjoy.

Senso-ji Temple

Senso-ji Temple is absolutely beautiful showcasing significant Buddhist temple. The vibrant main hall, the towering pagoda, and the bustling grounds create a powerful sense of history and tradition.

Nakamise Shopping Street

Leading up to Senso-ji Temple, Nakamise Shopping Street is a lively, traditional marketplace filled with stalls selling souvenirs, traditional crafts, and delicious street food. Down further you go there is a shopping street where you can find more unique stores. A great spot to soak in the atmosphere and find unique gifts.

Tokyo Solamachi/Skytree

Tokyo Solamachi, located at the base of the towering Tokyo Skytree, offers extensive stores and food that made our stomach growl. We decided not to go to Tokyo Skytree as we recently went to The Red Tower.

Tokyo Cruise

We didn’t realize until it was too late, but Tokyo actually offers a fantastic Tokyo Cruise experience right near Asakusa Station! We saw online that their cruise ships look incredibly futuristic, even shaped like a bullet train. It would have been a relaxing way to see various landmarks, from traditional bridges to modern skyscrapers, providing a scenic journey between popular districts like Asakusa and Odaiba. What a missed opportunity for us!

Asahi Group Head Office & Super Dry Beer Hall

The Asahi Group Head Office, with its distinctive golden “flame” sculpture, is an iconic part of Tokyo’s skyline near Asakusa. Below it, the Super Dry Beer Hall is a popular spot to enjoy fresh Asahi beer in a lively setting, offering both a visual and a tasting experience.

Conclusion:

Our Asakusa journey was a blend of culture, and modern vibes. We explored the traditional charm of Asakusa Hanayashiki and Senso-ji Temple, enjoyed panoramic views near the Tokyo Skytree, and Tokyo Cruise.
