Chabara Akihabara
We loved exploring Chabara Akihabara, a fantastic market dedicated to regional Japanese foods and specialty products. We went in and was surprised to see so many specialty products and even Mr. Peanuts. It’s a true foodie’s paradise, offering everything from unique local sauces to artisanal snacks and sake, all under one roof.
Fukushimaya Tasting Market
We saw the market late at night and made it a goal to try to go into the store while we were on our trip. Fukushimaya Tasting Market was a delightful discovery, featuring a curated selection of gourmet items and fresh produce.
Maachecute
Maachecute is near the riverside complex with shops and restaurants that is housed in a beautifully renovated old railway archway. It offers a unique shopping and dining experience with a relaxed, picturesque atmosphere right by the water.

2k540 Aki-Oka Artisan is a hidden gem located directly beneath the railway tracks, showcasing a collection of independent artisan workshops and boutiques. It’s a fascinating place to discover unique handmade crafts, from leather goods to jewelry, and even watch the artists at work. It was a nice place to explore for a small stroll nearby.
