Boba Tea Crew

Walking past Boba Tea Crew in Pioneer Place, we had to compare it to Din Tai Fung’s boba. We’re so glad we stopped! Their Honeydew Slush with pearls was fantastic. The staff at Boba Crew were super friendly, and made it a perfect spot for a relaxing drink.

Ki Ca

Based on Google reviews, we checked out Ki Café, a cute spot known for smoothie bowls, coffees, and snacks. They even have adorable merchandise! We shared an Iced Bee Good Latte, and it truly blew our minds. It was so good, we wished we’d ordered two! Really cute places with lots of little knick knack

Voodoo Doughnut

We gave Voodoo Doughnut a try on a family member’s recommendation. This iconic Portland shop is famous for its quirky, creative donuts, like the classic Voodoo Doll. We tried a few, but found them too sweet for our taste. While the donuts were soft, other places offered better, less costly options. We loved their pink themed shop!

Helium Comedy Club: Laughs and Meet-and-Greets

At Helium Comedy Club, where we saw Ron Funches, we had to order from their full bar (there’s a minimum purchase per person). We both chose the Avid Blackberry Apple Cider. It had a nice blackberry flavor with a pleasant bubbly kick – a great drink to enjoy during the show!

Nacho’s House Mexican Kitchen Food Truck

Our hotel owner recommended Nacho’s House Mexican Kitchen Food Truck, which was conveniently close by. We’re glad we listened! Their burrito was great, served with a perfectly mild spicy sauce. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients, bursting with traditional Mexican flavors. Plus, there’s plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal.

Grassa

A friend recommended Grassa. We had to order before getting seated, but was okay as they had an open kitchen letting us watch chefs at work. We tried the Pork Belly Mac and Cheese and Pasta Alla Chitarra. The Mac and Cheese was too sweet for our liking, with overly caramelized pork belly overshadowing the cheese. The Pasta Alla Chitarra started well but became too oily, leaving our throats coated rather than enjoying a well-blended pesto.

Petite Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie

Colin picked Petite Provence, a charming patisserie that brings a slice of France to Portland. We had waited 25-minute during a busy weekend lunch. It is great that they have free parking! There were tons of tempting treats inside. We ordered a French Gyro and a Chef’s Omelette with Provencal Potatoes (which came with a butter croissant), plus an order of the Raspberry and Peach Danish.

The French Gyro was good overall, but the bread was too thick. The Chef’s Omelette was super flavorful, with perfectly coated potatoes. The pastries were well-baked and filled just right. Julian loved the butter croissant, while Colin adored the peach Danish. We were stuffed but happy, even taking a pastry to go. The dishes are reasonably priced and very filling!

Conclusion:

While the trip flew by quick, we enjoyed what Portland could offer during over visit. While Voodoo Doughnut was iconic, it was a bit too sweet for us. Nacho’s House Mexican Kitchen Food Truck delivered delicious burritos, and Petite Provence offered a delightful French brunch. Overall, Portland provided a diverse and memorable culinary adventure, proving there’s always something new to taste!
